    Industrial designer with experience in user research, user-centered design, and product development of consumer electronics, consumer goods, and interactive systems.

    Along with my career, I have acquired proven design leadership abilities in fast-paced product development environments and the capacity to deliver high-quality design solutions across multiple and varied design challenges. I am a self-starter with proven time management, project and resource planning, organizational tools, and techniques.

    DESIGN MINDSET

    I am always looking for new ideas, more streamlined processes, or ways to optimize workflows, team collaboration, and elevate experiences. A critical, creative, and curiosity-driven mindset is the base of my design process and resulting changes, allowing me to deliver meaningful products and services aligned with the needs of businesses and end-users.

    My design approach encompasses user-center insights, contextual factors, and state-of-the-art technologies as the creative materials to transform ideas into actionable and meaningful experiences that respond to the challenges of our evolving society.

  • Work

    Through the last 8 years of design, I have had the opportunity to work with all-sizes worldwide companies, such as Electrolux, Samsung Electronics, LG, and Rocca, as well with start-up companies, design studios, and governmental organizations such as USONO, Avanix, Bompas & Parr, Van Berlo, Design2Gather, The British Red Cross and The Design Museum.

    Besides my industry-driven background, I have worked as a design researcher and Ph.D. promovendus at the Industrial Design department at the Eindhoven University of Technology. I have conducted design research on wearable technology for recreational sports. In this role, I led the Vitality Studio and worked with local and nation-wide parties such as the Dutch Organisation for Scientific Research, NOC*NSF The Dutch Olympic Committee*Dutch Sports Federation, 2M Engineering, Eindhoven City, Fontys School for Sport Sciences, Innosportlab, Delft University, and Vrij Universiteit Amsterdam.

  • I have received international awards and recognitions by different organizations and venues, as well as granted a Scholarship by the Colombian Administrative Department of Science, Technology, and Innovation to conduct my master’s studies abroad. 

    Patent design in collaboration with TCL Technology Hong Kong 2021

    Gold Award - 1st Place award at the TCL Award Next Flexible Display, Hong Kong 2021.

    • Honor Award Scientific Publication at Design Interactive Systems DIS 2021.

    1st place award at MEL Creathon 2021 Lille, Belgium, and the Netherlands “Sport, Health and Design” for leading the design and execution of Act2Gather, an augmented reality playground.

    1st place award of the Rocca Design Contest – Special Edition Barcelona 2020, for the design of Lux, a sanitary solution to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.

    1st place award at the IEEE Brain Hackathon 2018 at the Hasso Plattner Institute, Berlin for leading a multidisciplinary team in the design of ThINK, a functional Brain-Computer Interface for motor-impaired patients.

    Academic Scholarship granted by the Colombian Administrative Department of Science, Technology, and Innovation to conduct my master’s studies abroad.

    1st place award at Design2Gather Shanghai 2016 for the concept design of an interactive water bottle for children.

    • Selected among the World Top 35 best young designers by Electrolux Design Lab, Sweden 2014.

    1st place award by the Haceb Proyecta Appliances Design Competition, Colombia 2013 and 2015.

    • Awarded with ‘The best academic project’ during my bachelor studies.
