Smart energymeter dongle
-
Chargee Sparky is a dongle designed to monitor home energy consumption. The primary challenge of the project was to develop a simple yet cost-effective casing to house the electronic components. In addition to the design, we were tasked with sourcing, managing, and overseeing the production and assembly of all electronic components.
The end result is a sleek, compact casing that not only protects the internal electronics but also enhances the overall user experience, combining practicality with refined aesthetics. The design ensures both functionality and ease of use in an affordable package.

Minimal & Honest
A minimal style is characterised by the use of basic geometric shapes and volumes aimed at fulfilling the technical requirements of systems while delivering subtle and amusing user experiences.
The use of semitransparent materials and finishes endow the products with honesty as they expose their content and make it part of their aesthetic and functional appeal.
Iterative design
Sparky dongle design
The product showcases a two-piece casing designed to securely house all of Sparky's electronic components. By incorporating sloped contours over the empty spaces created by the PCB’s geometry, the casing achieves a compact and streamlined form.
